Maintenance Report

A comprehensive maintenance engineering report should be provided with any maintenance inspection program. Keeping the system information is very important. They can be useful guides in determining the frequency of required maintenance on the system.
The report should cover all inspection operations performed on the system as well as tests and its results. It should contain the following general information:

• project overview
• power system single-line diagram
• apparatus inspection and test sheets specific to substation being inspected
• historical data overview
• observations and recommendations
• glossary of terms and testing performed

If the system inspection and testing results confirm that protective device system is not co-ordinated, additionally a protective device co-ordination study should be performed and its results should be showed as additional document.
